Employees of the Del Norte County Schools, Denocos Federal Credit Union and College of the Redwoods who work in Del Norte County, California and members of the Board of Education and Trustees of accredited or licensed schools under the jurisdiction of the Del Norte County Superintendent of Schools in Del Norte County, California and organizations of such members and members of their immediate families or households.
  2. Students who are registered and attending public schools supervised by the Del Norte County Superintendent of Schools in Del Norte County and College of the Redwoods students attending school in Del Norte County.
  3. Spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this Credit Union, persons retired from the above employment and members of their immediate families or households.

Immediate Family and Household Members

Immediate family is defined as spouse, domestic partner, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, or grandchild. Immediate family members include stepparents, stepchildren, stepsiblings, and adoptive relationships. These relationships are not dependent on the person living under the same roof as the primary potential member.

If a person does not qualify for membership as a family member, they may nevertheless be eligible because the primary potential member and this person share the same household. Household is defined as persons living in the same residence maintaining a single economic unit. This definition includes those sharing an apartment or house on a relatively stable basis. The definition of “household” contemplates some permanency and participation in the maintenance of the household.

It is not necessary for the primary potential member to join the credit union for the immediate family or household member of the primary potential member to join. Primary potential members are those people who are employees of the occupational group. However, it is necessary for the immediate family member or the household member to first join for that person’s immediate family member to join the credit union.

Once A Member, Always A Member

Once a person becomes a member of the credit union, such person may remain a member of Denocos until they choose to withdraw or is expelled from the membership of the Credit Union. This provision does not prevent Denocos from restricting services to any member who is no longer within the field of membership.
